Good Contacts For Canon Digital rebel XTi.?

I'm thinking about a Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro Lens:

which using the camera will put me right inside my budget, or perhaps a cheaper contact lens and also the Canon Normal EF 50mm f/1.8 II Autofocus Lens:

I am attending college next be seduced by photography and want an electronic SLR since I curently have two film SLRs.

Are these good contacts for my budget((about $750-$780)), or does anybody else have other lens designs inside my budget from B&HPhoto.com

Also I'll most likely have more contacts after i start college when i need all of them with scholarship/pale grant money.

I must purchase the camera with my budget. Your camera is $589.00. That leaves me about $150.00 for contacts until college funds start moving in.

Don't waste your hard earned money on a 3rd party zoom. Yech.

Canon's 50 F/1.8 is advisable. Among the best values in photography.

Ok, that leaves you with $681. That's enough money to invest on an excellent prime or wide position lens!!! What type of photography you are interested in probably the most?
