Panasonic HDC-TM15 recording in MPEG-4?

I'm trying to record a relevant video and edit it on my small G5 mac my school provided me with (and so i can't download any software about it). Your camera I personally use defaults to AVC-HD, which is not suitable for FCP about the mac computer. I actually do possess a video ripper tools, but it's not fast enough.
